A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a retired Permanent Secretary in Nasarawa state, John Mamman and his supporters have defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Mamman, who made this known yesterday at a reception organised in his honour by the executives and members of APC, Dari electoral ward of Kokona local government area of the state, said that he decided to join the APC due to the developmental strides of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Tanko Al-Makura which have direct impacts on the lives of the people.

Mamman told the mammoth crowd that he is one of the longest serving generals in PDP, joined the party in May 1998 and since then had never defected to any political party in the state.

Mamman explained that he decided to join the APC in order to contribute his quota to the development of the area, the state and Nigeria at large while assuring APC of his loyalty and support to enable the party come victorious in 2019 election.

“I have no reason and I will say it without fear or favour that in my life, what Senator Abdullahi Adamu did in my life, nobody have done it to me. He made me a director, caretaker chairman of this area and then a Permanent Secretary.

Which reason on earth will I have not to join him in the family of APC, hence the need for me and my supporters to join APC to contribute my quota to the development of the party.” he said.
