An aspirant vying for Plateau state governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sam Abashe has said he wanted to unseat the Governor Simon Bako Lalong because the citizens of the state were not enjoying dividends of democracy.

Abashe who served 21 years in the Nigerian army and 15 years in UN peacekeeping mission, emphasized that he wanted to focus on women and youth because they were the most disadvantaged group in the society.
He promised that the future of all citizens of Plateau people will be safeguarded.
He reiterated that his administration, if given the mandate, would focus towards improving agriculture, tourism and mining.
He said, “I have a vision to take Plateau state to a new paradigm of true democratic values. I would remain committed to the primary purpose of good governance, securing of lives and properties of Plateau citizens, social welfare and food security,”
