An APC national chairmanship aspirant, Chief Ibrahim Emokpaire, has expressed optimism that the support that former governor Adams Oshiomhole received from the party’s governors will not threaten his chances at the June 23 national convention.
Emokpaire, who spoke yesterday in Abuja shortly after picking the nomination and expression of interest forms at the secretariat of the national convention committee, also voiced hope that the contest would still be open to all. Asked whether he felt threatened by endorsement of Oshiomhole by Godwin Obaseki of his home state of Edo and the seeming dashed hope of an open race, said: “About open race, our party is a democratic party. And we believe in a democratic process. That is exactly what this convention will lead to.”
