He charged them to redouble their efforts towards ensuring the success of the party at the forthcoming 2019 elections.

Besides, he directed the state chairmen from Lagos, Oyo and Delta not to inaugurate their executives until the issues with the congresses in such states are resolved.

He said: “You have to work hard to return the party to its lost glory. Also, make sure you work hard for the re-election of our President.”

In another development, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha yesterday swore in two new commissioners and two local council transition chairmen.

The new commissioners include Daniel Nworie, a lawyer, who was assigned the Ministry of Sports and Prof. Edna Njoku in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Mrs. Ugochi Nnanna Okoro, a lawyer, who was the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, is now the Commissioner for Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR).

The newly-sworn-in local council transition committee chairmen are Ugorji Collins for Mbailtoli Local Council and Kelechi Iwueze for Ehime Mbano Local Council.

Okorocha, while speaking at the Sam Mbakwe Expanded Executive Council Chambers, said his concern was how to get a successor who would continue the good work he had done.

Okorocha, said: “The Rescue Mission Government has done very well and will also finish well. This is because no government in the history of the state had done one-tenth of what this administration has done. And we have done so because I mean well for Imo State and her people.”
