Another Nigerian Senator, Bukar Mustapha, Is Dead


The Senator representing Katsina North Central District, Engineer Mustapha Bukar is dead.

Mustapha was President Muhammadu Buhari’s senator as he represented the president’s senatorial district.

The Senator, also known as Madawakin Daura, died Wednesday morning in Abuja after a brief illness.

The late Senator’s personal assistant, Ahmed Daura, posted the news of his principal’s death on his Facebook page early Wednesday morning.

NAN also quotes Mustapha’s younger brother, Kanta Bukar, as confirming the news.

His death is coming less than a week after the deputy majority leader of the House of Representatives, Umar Jibril, died after a protracted illness.

It also came about two weeks after another senator, Ali Wakili, passed away.

Details surrounding the death and burial arrangements were still unfolding as of the time of this report.
