JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South African anti-apartheid activist Winnie Madikizela-Mandela died peacefully on Monday following a long illness, a family spokesman said.

“She succumbed peacefully in the early hours of Monday afternoon surrounded by her family and loved ones.”
