President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday commiserated with the family of the deputy majority leader of the House of Representatives, Umar Buba Jibril.

Buhari sympathised with the leadership and members of the House of Representatives in particular and the National Assembly in general over the incident.
President Buhari described the late Jibril as a humble and vibrant national legislator.
He also extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Kogi State whom he said the late lawmaker represented creditably for many years at both the state and national legislatures.
The president prayed that Allah comfort all those mourning the late Jibril and grant his soul eternal rest.
Similarly, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has also mourned the death of Jibril.
In a release today by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party condoled the family of the deceased, the National Assembly as well as the government and people of Kogi State over the loss.
The party noted his contributions to the institution of democracy as a former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and as a longstanding member of the House of Representatives who moved many motions and initiated bills geared towards a better life for Nigerians.
The party said that the vibrant and experienced lawmaker who was a three-time member of the House of Representatives was a grassroots politician dedicated to the service of his people, adding that he would be missed.
The APC prayed for the repose of his soul.
