How Atiku presidency’ll return Nigeria to true federalism—Ijaw group

Warri—The leadership of Delta Ijaw Grassroots Political Movement, DIGPM, has stated that the emergence of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria will guarantee peace and unity because of his support for restructuring, power devolution and true federalism. •Atiku DIGPM, in a statement by its Chairman, Oliver Isaac and Secretary, Mr. Ebikeme Banre, noted that the decision by Atiku to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was not only apt but his decision to aspire to the office of president was the best thing to happen in the history of Nigeria. “Your decision to return to the PDP at this time is appropriate and your aspiring for the office of president in 2019 is laudable and a welcome development in the history of Nigeria as a whole as it is not borne out of selfishness,” they said. While stating that Atiku’s political sagacity coupled with the concrete efforts of other well meaning PDP stakeholders were significant in producing Prince Uche Secondus as the generally accepted party leader, they said that the DIGPM was optimistic that with the PDP crisis behind them, victory was sure for the PDP in 2019.
