A conglomerate of 3 sustainability-focused businesses, CSR-in-Action has championed the cause of sustainable development in Nigeria over the past seven years. The company has seen to it that many corporates operating within Nigeria do business in ways that impact positively on the communities and environment where they operate.

Some of the milestones in the company’s success stories include ‘The Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) Conference – an annual workshop established and organised by CSR-in-Action in partnership with Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (FMMSD), Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources (FMPR), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other key stakeholders in the industries. The Conference which annually gathers around 1000 stakeholders in the extractive industries is aimed at ensuring the cohesive management of the sector.

CSR-in-Action also publishes the annual “Corporate Sustainable Investor Report (CSIR)”. The Report is the first ever widely disseminated and inclusive compendium which covers all sustainability activities all over Nigeria every year, inclusive of indigenous businesses, multinationals, governments and multi-lateral partnerships, and is modelled after international reports on sustainable investment. CSR-in-Action has an individual focused initiative such as the Good Citizen. Other services provided by CSR-in-Action include, Training, Sustainability Reporting and Sustainability Strategy Development and Implementation.

“As a Nigerian company with global outlook, we see a need to draw attention to all the benefits that will accrue to Nigerians if we stay united and work to build the nation. As such, our key initiatives focus on character building at all levels – government, business, individual and community levels. Sustainability, ethics and corporate ethics are our watchwords and these have earned us a place in the hearts of all that we encounter.” Bekeme Masade, the Chief Executive of the company asserted. “I am really proud when CSR-in-Action’s name is equated with integrity; for me that is success”, she further added.

At an event which held over the weekend in Lagos, staff of the company explored the Lekki Conservative Center. Stakeholders spoke about their impression of the consultancy and how the ideals of the company have affected their perception of sustainability.

In a related development, CSR-in-Action has signed an MoU with the management of Inspiration FM to host a 30 minutes talk show weekly. The programme will focus on Good Citizenship – whether individual, corporate or otherwise – and aims to promote the values of responsibility, entrepreneurship, patriotism, unity, and transparency.
“CSR-in-Action is at the vanguard of real change and drives real development and sustainable principles that govern the way individuals and businesses exist”, Meka Olowola, Managing Partner, CSR-in-Action.
