over Two thousand unemployed people in Finland are part of an experiment that could shape the future of the West. For the next two years, the government will give them the equivalent of $660 a month—for free, no strings attached, yle reported. It’s an idea called Universal Income and though it has a lot of politicians and economists excited, others are worried about creating a society of freeloaders. Meanwhile, Finland’s consumer confidence index dropped marginally in October, but remained strong, figures from Statistics Finland showed. The CCI dropped to 23.1 in October from 23.7 September.
