Ambode’s appointment as SSF chairman well deserved – Group


Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, has said the appointment of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum (SGF) is well deserved.

The group’s Coordinator, Mr. Seyi Bamigbade in a statement made available to journalists described his appointment as well deserved and in line with his mission to ensure the country and southern region were well positioned for socio- economic development.

The group, which is made up of social activist, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), artisans, political groups and youths , pointed out that Governor Ambode’s dedication to duty, coupled with the passion for transformation of the country endeared him to his colleagues.

He said, “ Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as a distinguished leader of the people has shown compassion to people that nothing is impossible. He has been a pillar of help to the helpless. He has put smile on the faces of many by providing jobs to the jobless and focus on many developmental projects.”

Bamigbade said Ambode remained the best performing governor in the entire geographical landscape called Nigeria.

“Indeed we are pleased and delighted to associate with a highly endowed personality like you. He is simply ahead of your peers in terms of intellectual vibrancy and commitment to excellence and accountability.

“We prayed that the Almighty God will protect, guide and grant him the wisdom he deserves to actualize his visions for Southern region. We wish him several more honours and accolades in the course of discharging services to his motherland,” he said.

It would be recalled that Governors of the Southern States of Nigeria on Monday met in Lagos, where Governor Ambode was unanimously appointed as the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum (SGF) while Governors Seriaki Dickson of Bayelsa and David Umahi of Ebonyi States were appointed as Co- Chairmen of the Forum.
