Victor Lindelof became Manchester United’s first transfer after signing his contract today. The former Benfica defender’s move was confirmed by United a couple of days ago, but the medical and the official signing of the contract happened today. Lindelof is expected to fit in straight into the first team when the season starts as Marcos Rojo will be unavailable due to his long term injury.

It is still unclear whether Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have a future at United. It is expected that Smalling will leave the club where as Jones will be given a chance to prove himself. It is a massive turnaround for Smalling who was United’s best outfield player under Van Gaal. Mourinho’s defenders are known to be error-free but Smalling has had a poor season. The Lindelof-Bailly partnership will be an exciting one to watch and they do have the potential to be one of Europe’s best centerback pairings.
