Jalingo, Taraba State, March 12,2017, Naija247news, Plans have been concluded by the authority of the Federal University of Wukari (FUW) Taraba state to employe all the students of the institution who recently graduated with first class degrees.
The decision, according to the Vice Chancelłor, Professor Abubakar Musa Kundiri, would go a long way to challenge students of the institution to take serious their academic works.
Kundiri who made this known recently in Wukari during the maiden convocation of the institution which was established six years ago, said the school authority is considering giving automatic employment to the sixteen students of the university that graduated with first class degrees.
Noting that the university awarded Bachelors of Arts and Science Degrees to 394 grandaunts who met the specified requirements” the school authority, as made known by him would work tirelessly round the clock to rewards those who excel in their academic field “by engaging them.”
Out of the 394 grandaunts awarded with Bachelor of Acts and Science degrees, he said 16 attained first class degree, 166 second class (Upper), 192 third class (lower) and 20 third class degrees.
Visibly elated by the performance of the students, the VC made known that ” all our first class degree grandaunts will be considered for employment by the university and will be train up to their third level degree.”
The VC who noted that the university is ” one of the most promising universities in Nigeria” said the council, management staff and students of the institution are ” fervently joined in resolve to share and key into the dream of the National University Commission (NUC) by making education in Nigeria more affordable and accessible.”
To promote research especially in the area of Agriculture, the university, as stated by him has taken the bull by the horn by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with some foreign universities.
The universities which according to him includes Colorado, Wolverhampton and Manchester, have unanimously agreed to extend the much needed olive branches to FUW to excel in any of its research work.
