Former Cameroon international Joel Matip says he is delighted to have joined English Premier League (EPL) giants Liverpool FC.
The lanky centre back has cemented his place in the Reds starting line-up after joining the club from German Bundesliga side FC Schalke eight months ago.
“It was my first real change and this was all new,” Matip told Liverpool’s official website.
Matip admitted that it wasn’t easy during his first few days at the club, who are looking to finish in the EPL this season.
“At the beginning it was not always easy but all the people gave me a really warm welcome and it was nice to be here,” he said.
“Everybody helped me and that’s why I really feel at home. I’ve got a good feeling being here.”
Matip has made 16 league appearances for the Reds thus far this season – netting once against Crystal Palace.
