Senator Shehu he stands by report that indicted Babachir in corruption allegations.

Sani tweeted on his Twitter handle on Tuesday, January 31 that he had met with the APC leaders at the ruling party’s headquarters in Abuja but while so many important issues were discussed about the unity of the party especially in the Senate, he is choosing to stand by the report of his Senate Ad-hoc Committee on the humanitarian crisis in the Northeast which indicted Babachir.

He tweeted:

Recall that Sani had initially denied being invited by the ruling APC over his comments about President Buhari’s letter to the Senate.

Sani posted a short statement on his social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter late on Friday, January 27 denying reports of his summoning by the APC.

Babachir is alleged to have enriched himself and some friends through corrupt practices in IDP camps in the northeast.

He however told his followers that he would notify them if he was invited. He appears to have now done that following yesterday’s tweet.

Meanwhile, Sani has also expressed concerns over the 661 brand new pump-action rifles intercepted in Lagos state by the officials of the Nigeria Customs Service.

He noted that the appearance of such a large number of weapons shows that Nigeria is prone to violence.

He said:“The large cache of weapons intercepted by the Customs is commendable. It also points to the reality of proclivity for violence in the country.”
