By Emmanuel Ujah

The President of Coalition of Civil Society Groups, Mr. Etuk Williams, led members on street demonstrations in Abuja, yesterday, to drum support for President Muhammadu Buhari and the Central Bank Governor,  Mr. Godwin Emefiele, over the current foreign exchange policy and other policies of the Federal Government. The demonstrators, mainly women, carried various placards, some which read: “Coalition of Civil Society groups operation stop backmail against Buhari, Emefiele and others, Enough is enough,” “Blackmailers leave Emefiele alone,” “We stand with Buhari and Emefiele,” “Naira will bounce back,” “Recession will be over soon,” “Give change a chance,” “No country thrives on corruption,” among others. Addressing the demonstrators, on Tafawa Balewa Road,  Abuja, Williams said that some blackmailers had been sponsoring anti-CBN foreign exchange policy demonstrators and that his group was out to show that Nigerians were with the CBN leadership and the Buhari administration on the economic policies being pursued by the Federal Government. He said blackmailers should stop distracting the administration and allow government officials  concentrate on their jobs.
