Nigeria, Russia To Launch E-commerce Platform

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in collaboration with Trail Trans Logistics Group of Companies in Russia, has concluded plans to formally launch an e-commerce platform that will boost the quantum of direct trade, both import and export, between Russia and Nigeria.

The official launch, according to LCCI, scheduled to hold Lagos, is expected to further boost the national economy.

Muda Yusuf, director-general of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: “The RuNiTrade e-commerce platform is a welcome development, coming at a time when Nigeria seriously needs forex from export as a way of diversifying the economy, and strengthening the non-oil sector. The focus, here, with this launch, is to strengthen the bilateral trade relations between Russia and Nigeria, and boost the economic activities between the two countries.”

The Yusuffurther stated that, “The Launch will feature B2B interaction between a delegation of Russian businessmen and their Nigerian counterparts on business opportunities available to willing investors in international trade.

Also expected at the launch are: president, LCCI, DrNikeAkande, deputy head of Mission, Trade and Economy, Embassy of Russia in Nigeria, Valery Shaposhnikov; president, Pskov Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Russia, ZubovVladmirAnatolyvich and other notable dignitaries.”

Trail Trans Logistics, a Russian based group of companies and operators of the RuNiTrade e-commerce platform, noted that its partnership with LCCI is to add value to Nigeria’s international trade relations status and unravel the hidden treasures in doing business with Russia, as a big window to Europe.
