U.S. condemns Chibok suicide attacks


The U.S. Embassy in Abuja has condemned Wednesday’s suicide attacks on Chibok, a town in Borno.

This is contained in a statement issued by the embassy on Thursday in Abuja and made available to news men.

“The U.S. Embassy condemns the multiple suicide attacks against the Chibok community on Jan. 27.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.

“The United States remains committed to supporting Nigeria’s fight against these senseless acts of terror,” the statement read.

NAN reports that no fewer than 14 persons were killed on Wednesday in suicide attacks on the Chibok market while 30 persons were injured.
