Dangote Foundation Spends N4Bn On Kano Projects


story.aspxThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dangote Foundation, Zouera Youssoufou, has said that various projects of the Foundation in Kano State have reached a total of N4 billion.

Youssoufou revealed this during a working visit to Kano to inspect some on-going projects in the state.

The Foundation’s CEO said she was in Kano with her team as part of efforts to complete some of the projects the company started, adding that some of them are being redesigned.

She said the Foundation’s Micro Grant Programme for women empowerment in Kano has disbursed N880 million, benefiting 88,000 women, and its Animal Traction Programme, executed through a revolving loan to farmers, cost the Foundation N160 million.

Speaking on  the areas of water provision, the CEO explained that Dangote Foundation has contracted the construction of borehole facilities for 220 communities across the 44 local government areas of the state at the cost of N110 million.

So far, the first tranche of 66 boreholes across 6 LGAs is being executed.
