No untoward security report so far, says DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) said it had so far not received any “untoward” security report from any part of the country in connection with the ongoing elections. The spokesperson of the service, Marilyn Ogar, stated this in an interview with newsmen on Saturday in Abuja. Ogar spoke after the Director-General of the DSS, Mr Ekpeyong Ita, was accredited at a polling unit at Asokoro in Abuja at about 11.26 a.m. “We have not received any untoward report as at now,” she said. She said the presence of security personnel nationwide was to guarantee the safety of voters to exercise their franchise. “In terms of security we say that security is guaranteed, there is enough security everywhere, there is no need to be afraid,” the spokesman said.
