FCT minister happy over massive turn-out of voters in Bauchi

he Minster of the Federal Capital Territory, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has commended the people of Bauchi state for coming out en-mass to participate in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Mohammed gave the commendation on Saturday in Bauchi, shortly after he was accredited by electoral officers at his polling unit, Aminu Jibril, GRA Ward, Bauchi.

“I am really impressed with the large turnout of people, the youth, the men, the aged and particularly women.

“This shows that Nigeria’s democracy is working and the electorate are pleased with the quality of governance in this country,” he said.

The minster expressed optimism that the election would be peaceful and successful, considering the orderly conduct of voters at various polling units.

“I have gone round and I am impressed with what I have seen.

“People are calm; they are law-abiding and conducting themselves in an orderly manner.

“I am very confident to say that we are expecting a smooth and peaceful election,” the minister said. (NAN)
