The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, Mr. Uche Orji, will deliver a keynote address at the launch of the Afrinvest 2014 Nigerian Banking Sector Report next Tuesday.
The event, taking place in Lagos, will be attended by key stakeholders in the Nigeria’s financial services industry, from both the public and private sectors.
According to a statement by the organisers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, will be the special guest of honour.
The Managing Director of Afrinvest, Mr. Ike Chioke, said the 2014 report, titled, ‘Navigating growth in a challenging environment’, would “x-rays the current conditions of the Nigerian banking landscape within the context of the domestic and global economy.”
Prior to his appointment as the CEO of the NSIA in 2012, Orji had worked in a number of global institutions such as JP Morgan Securities and Goldman Sachs Asset Management in the United Kingdom.
He had received particular acclaim for his development of a 10-point investment framework for semi-conductor investment as the managing director of the United States investment bank, UBS, shooting up to the fifth position in the world rankings of the best brokerage analysts (Forbes).
The Afrinvest annual ‘Nigerian Banking Sector Report’ was started in 2006, and has come to be recognised as the leading and most incisive report on Nigeria’s banking industry, as well as a valuable reference for local and international investors in the Nigerian economy.
