Acting governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, yesterday, said his bid to contest as governor is on behalf of the people of the state.
Fintiri, in an interview with journalists said the response of the people to his earlier disqualification testifies to the fact that his aspiration is the project of the people of Adamawa State and not his personal ambition.
“ I feel happy and have cause to thank God that the Appeal Committee has cleared me to contest, I want to assure the people of Adamawa who trooped out to welcome me that we must all team up and work for the total liberation of the state”
He noted that his subsequent clearance by the appeal committee has turned the decision of the screening committee into a blessing in disguise, saying he remains grateful to the people who showed solidarity with him.
The acting governor said he had sought for the cooperation of most of the other 13 aspirants in working together to select a popular candidate with a view to forge unity and promote the popularity of the party.
