Former chairman of Yola North local government, Ibrahim Mijinyawa said his experience as a former councilor and local government chairman will give him an advantage over his opponents in the forthcoming governorship by-election in Adamawa State.
Speaking at the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yola during his declaration, Mijinyawa called on the electorates at all levels to support the emergence of a governor with deep understanding of problems of the common man.
He said only politicians that have come close to the grassroots could formulate workable policies that can directly improve the lives of the people and move the state to the next level of development.
“I will not disappoint you. You voted me in as councilor 24 years ago and I delivered. You voted me as chairman 11 years ago and I delivered. If by grace of God you vote me as governor of Adamawa State, I will not disappoint you”, he said.
In his remark, the deputy chairman of APC in Central zone, Dimas Ezra, expressed satisfaction with the emergence of grassroots oriented and quality aspirants in the party, saying the party leadership will not compromise its stance on entrenching true internal democracy.
