An Islamic scholar, Dr Abdulkadir Solagberu, has urged Nigerians to tolerate one another, irrespective of religious, cultural and political affiliations.
Solagberu, founder of Darul-Kitab Wa Sunnah College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin, who spoke on Sunday during the graduation of 490 students of the school, stressed the need for tolerance.
He tasked the Committee on Religion at the National Conference to dwell more on factors capable of restoring peace, unity and harmony among religious adherents in the country.
“It is our hope that the outcome of the National Conference will shed more light on the channels to follow toward getting things right in the nation”, he said.
Solagberu said that researches had revealed that lack of social, ethical and moral values had contributed to the deterioration of social justice and fundamental human rights of the citizenry.
He promised that the institution would continue to be in the vanguard of bringing up children in line with the teachings of almighty Allah and the traditions of Prophet Mohammed.
