IGP has not proceeded on retirement leave, says Mba

Inspector-General-of-Police-Mohammed-Abubakar-360x225The Police High Command has denied reports  that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar had been asked to proceed on pre-retirement leave.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba,issued in Abuja on Thursday said Abubakar was“ fully`on his desk”.

The Police High Command had  not received any official communication from appropriate government quarters informing the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar of retirement from the force,” the  statement has said.

Mba said Mohammed has continued “to performed his duty as the 16th indigenous IGP”.
