Cristiano Ronaldo talked ambitiously about winning everything after Tuesday night’s Champions League game against Schalke. So much so that the Portuguese star has no problem in discussing the possibility of grabbing what would be an incredible trio of trophies.
“Step by step we will try to meet all our objectives and win all three competitions. We know that it will be difficult but at Real Madrid you have to aspire to win everything, and if we have that attitude anything is possible”.
“We have to take it game by game in each competition. In the Champions League we had a good group stage and we scored lots of goals and won lots of points. Following that, we have knocked out Schalke. So we will see which team we will have to play next”, he added about the specific objective of winning a Champions League.
On the Schalke match he said, “The coach told us in the team talk that he wanted to see us play a serious game with plenty of personality and so we went out for the victory with some good play. We tried to do it like that even though the match was a bit strange in the first half but after the break we changed things and improved a lot. We ended the night feeling happy with our job done and this match now gives us confidence going into the league game against Barcelona”.
Cristiano played the full game against the German side despite the Barcelona game being just around the corner. He was quite clear on the matter: “I always want to play. I feel good and the coach, who makes the decisions, decided it would be good for me to start against Schalke. Things went well; I got two goals and helped my team to an important win that allows us to continue with our good run. Now we must continue like this and see what happens in the next matches”.
