The Plateau State Independent Election Commission (PLASIEC) on Friday commended its ad-hoc staff for their contribution to the successful conduct of the Feb. 25 local council polls in the state.
The Commission’s Chairman, Mr Peter Dalyop, gave the commendation in Mangu Local Government Area while addressing the ad-hoc staff that participated in the conduct of the election in the area.
“We are so proud of the way and manner you conducted yourselves during the Feb. 25 local government election.
“I wish to commend you, on behalf of the commission, for your contributions to the successful conduct of the council polls adjudged the most peaceful in the state,’’ he said.
Dalyop said that the realisation of the importance of the election to the entire people of the state and their commitment to its success was appreciated by the commission and other stakeholders.
According to him, the commitment of the personnel is a demonstration of their patriotism to not only the state, but the country at large.
He pledged to engage them in future assignments and wished them the best in their endeavours.
Responding, the Electoral Officer of Mangu Local Government, Mr Emmanuel Nimkur, expressed gratitude to the commission for keeping to its promise in paying all outstanding allowances owed the staff.
