Taraba Govt. to distribute fishing equipment to 2,000 farmers

The Taraba Government on Monday said that it would soon commence the distribution of fishing equipment to about 2,000 farmers.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Isa Musa, disclosed this to journalists at news conference in Jalingo on Monday .

He said that the farmers were those affected in the 2012 flood disaster in the state

According to Musa, the centres are : Mayo-Renewo, Mutum –Biyu, Bali, Ibi, Donga and Takum.

He said that the equipment would include : bundles of fishing nets, pieces of marine nets, floats and sinkers.

Musa said the inputs would ease the sufferings of the fishermen and increased their catch.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Federal Government (FG) had recently donated the fishing equipment to the State for distribution to the farmers.
