Edo Government on Wednesday directed timber contractors in the state to register their vehicles and forest exploitation equipment on or before Feb. 28.

“The public, particularly timber licencees, saw millers and timber contractors are hereby informed that they are expected to register with the forest department.
“Timber licencees, saw millers and timber contractors are given up till Feb. 28, 2014 to register.
The statement said that only those who registered their logging equipment and obtained tax clearance certificate would be allowed to carry out forest exploitation this year.
The statement urged the affected persons to insure their workers under the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund Seheme.
