Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has given the club a huge boost by edging closer to a putting pen-to-paper on a new deal, according to reports in Sports Direct News.

The club’s chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League appears to be in major doubt, but Rooney has reportedly been impressed by Moyes’ resilience in the face of so much criticism and his shock acquisition of Chelsea star Juan Mata during the January transfer window.
Rooney has it on good authority that Moyes will spend big over the summer after being promised a transfer war chest of £100m at the end of the season, and the 28-year-old is thought to be keen on being central to the rebuilding process.
Moyes, however, does have a huge task on his hands as he is set to replace veteran stoppers Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, whilst the likes of Michael Carrick and Patrice Evra who are nearing the end of their careers, and Rooney will likely become a target for Chelsea again.
However, if Moyes can tie the England man down to a new deal then he will have a huge weight off of his shoulders.
