Keshi said this yesterday after his wards forced Nigerian league defending champions, Kano Pillars to a 2-2 draw at the main bowl of the Abuja National Stadium in one of the preparatory matches ahead of the African soccer fiesta.

The coach, though expressed satisfaction in the team’s performance in the match, explained that he is yet to get a team for the task ahead.

“We are training the players to the best of our ability but one thing is certain, we are not miracle workers, we are just trying to see what we can do and try to get the best, that is all we can do.

For the Nations Cup team we had a year, we were subtracting or adding, we had 75 percent of the team on ground until we got to the training camp for the Nations Cup, so we had a team, …, we are struggling to add this, marry this together to see if we can get a proper team but my happiness this morning is that I can see they have improved, everyone of them knows what is expected of him, we will take it from here,” he explained.

According to him, the match against Pillars gave him an insight of a team that may possibly make the nation proud despite the number of injured players in the camp.

“I feel I saw more clearer today of the team, I think the team can do us proud. Minus the ones that are injured now some of them might be out of the game but for the rest of them we will work on them, and I like what I saw this morning.

Both Port Harcourt match and Pillars were all different scale, both of them gave us a good account except that over there in Port Harcourt, the field was not good, very difficult to play on but Kano Pillars here today[yesterday] give us some good game.

We are working on everything, this is not a team yet, they are just a group of players, we are working on everything and the coach of Pillars might be right on his assessment of the team’s transit from the defence to the attack, but I am working on everything, we should be ready for the match on January 11,” Keshi said.
