He said it is unfortunate that PDP has lost control in the House of Representatives for the first time since the return of democracy in Nigeria in 1999.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director of Press Affairs to the governor, Mallam Umar Kiyari and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Dutse.

Gov Lamido blamed those he described in the past as tenants and polio viruses in the party for being responsible for the woes of the party due to their desperate moves to control the party through impunity and abuse of democratic tenets.

“We are today witnessing what appears to be the final collapse of our dear party the PDP under the inept NWC led by Bamanga Tukur.

“I am short of words to express my pain. It is agonising to see the party built in every home, in every village, town and city all over Nigeria with lots of sacrifice being destroyed”.

The governor added that Nigeria’s democracy must not be allowed to be truncated by the activities of those opposed to the rule of law, justice, fairness and democracy.
