Tragedy struck in Delta State in the early hours of Monday when the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Lucky Uyabeme, died.

Prior to his death, he was an Assistant Superintendent of Police, who distinguished himself in his duty.
Uyabeme’s last response to distress call was that of the 80-year-old retired Army Major, Azum Asoya, and his 55-year-old wife, Elizabeth, who were kidnapped for 27 days but set free with amputated fingers.
The PPRO also played a major role when the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, presented his scorecard to Nigerians last weekend in Asaba, the state capital.
Uyabeme died in a ghastly motor accident along the Abi-Ogume Road in the Ndokwa axis of the state while on his way back from his village.
The car he was in was said to have somersaulted several times before plunging in a ditch.
He was said to have died on the spot.
The news of his death has since thrown men of the state police command into shock and sadness as the rank and file of the command were seen wearing gloomy faces.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ayo Ikechuckwu Aduba, could not be reached for comment but a top police officer said he was yet to recover from the sad news.
