Mr John Obaluju, General Manager in charge of the Kaduna region of the company, made this known on Monday when the National Good Governance Tour team inspected ongoing work at the Mando

He said the improvement in revenue resulted from the investments by government in both generation and transmission facilities.

Obajulu said after the expansion of the sub-station, electricity consumers would enjoy improved power supply at a much cheaper rate.

He said the expansion of the Mando sub-station would also address the problem of low voltage experienced by consumers in Kaduna and Kano States.

The Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, held that Federal Government’s efforts to improve transmission facilities across the country would yield result in the near future.

He said government reforms in the power sector would guarantee more efficiency and improvement in power generation and distribution.

“We are emphasising a lot on transmission facilities; there are a number of sub-stations that are under construction, and much is being done to link the entire country to generation plants across the country.

“What I see in future is that power supply would stabilise all over the country.

“What many Nigerians are seeing are investments in the power generation plants.

“But I want to report today that this facility is one among the numerous transmission facilities being built or expanded to ensure that power generated is not wasted’’, he said.

At the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Maku commended the management for the prudent management of resources allocated to it.

He urged government agencies across the country to develop the habit of looking inward to find solutions to problems confronting them.

Maku urged agencies of government not depend on allocations from government alone but device means of generating internal revenue to solve their problems.

He said that government would depend on the intellectual ingenuity of its armed forces to win future wars on insurgency and terrorism.

The Commandant, represented by his deputy, AVM Abbah Zannah, said NDA was executing electronic indoor shooting range which he said, was at advanced stage of completion.

Others included 3,000 capacity auditorium, a multipurpose indoor sports and leisure centre, an engineering complex and a drill shed which have all been completed.

He said that some of the infrastructures at the institution were funded through the Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETfund).

The deputy commandant said that 300 female cadets were among the 1,300 receiving training at the institution.

He said that the counter terrorism/insurgency courses integrated in the NDA curriculum would continue even after the country overcame the Boko Haram insurgency.

He said the academy’s curriculum was reviewed to align with the Federal Government’s policy on training its armed forces to address emerging challenges in the society.

The team also visited the new Kaduna State Governor’s office complex built and equipped at a cost of N9.3 billion.

The team also visited TETfund projects as well as projects executed by the state government at the Kaduna State University and Kaduna Polytechnic.

The team inspected work at the 300-bed hospital located at the Millennium City in Kaduna metropolis.
