Adeyeye, who represents Osun Central Senatorial District, lamented the long period the strike had taken and its negative impacts on the education of the youth.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Federal Government had earlier given ASUU up to Dec. 4 to return to work but later extended it to Dec. 9.
Adeyeye urged the authorities to be alive to their responsibilities and re-position the nation’s education sector.
“As a product of public schools, I feel like weeping for Nigeria’s education system today.
“But I am sure something good will start to happen soon,” he said.
The senator also called for the timely presentation of the 2014 budget to the National Assembly, to avoid delay in passing the appropriation bill. (NAN)
