EFCC arraigns man for theft N1.7m

efcc_logo_0The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday arraigned Abraham Osohbamisiole, before an Oyo State High Court over theft of N1.7 million.

Prosecutor Veral Agboje told the court that the defendant was arraigned on a one-count charge of stealing.

Agboje said the defendant fraudulently obtained N1.7 million belonging to Lateef Lasisi, on Sept.13, 2008.

Agboje said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Justice Muftau Adegbola granted bail to the defendant in the sum of one million naira with two sureties in like sum.

Adegbola said one of the sureties must be a property owner, while the second must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
