The Counsel to the plaintiff, Mr Moses Anyaji, said that the victim was raped at Nguru in Nsukka on July 15.
Anyaji said that the accused asked the victim to buy a recharge card for him and after buying the card, he gave the victim a bottle of fanta and biscuit.
He said that the accused asked the victim to enter his room to have some rest as the victim was sweating.
Anyaji said that immediately the victim entered the room, the accused started raping her.
“The victim was shouting with blood all over her body but the accused was busy raping her until neighbours entered and separated him from the victim.
“The worst of it was that both the victim and the accused were from the same family,’’ he said.
The Counsel to the accused, Mr Lawrence Onuagu, said that his client did not rape the victim.
Onuagu said that the accused and the victim were close and the victim’s mum did not like such closeness.
He said that the victim’s mum could be the one that set his client up as his client was innocent of the crime he was being accused of.
