The Delta House of Assembly on Thursday passed a bill to establish the State Security Trust Fund.

The bill, which was sponsored by the executive, would also empower the government to constitute a board which would coordinate the activities of the trust fund.
It would also ensure that funds were set aside for the acquisition and deployment of security equipment for security agencies operating in the state.
Speaking after the bill’s passage, the Speaker, Mr Victor Ochei, said that the bill was thoroughly debated, while amendments were made clause-by-clause and section-by-section.
He commended the members for their contributions which ensured the successful passage of the bill.
