Champions close to saying farewell to the title as Martinez celebrates one of his teams scoring at Old Trafford for first time ever

David Moyes was left red-faced on and off the pitch as Manchester United waved goodbye to their Premier League crown.
Moyes was the target for foul-mouthed abuse from his former fans as United had a night to forget, losing 1-0 at home to Everton and falling TWELVE points behind leaders Arsenal.
The Glaswegian saw stand-in left-back Bryan Oviedo score for the second game in a row to give Roberto Martinez’s men a famous win.
Moyes said: “I’m disappointed to lose, we missed some opportunities and Everton took theirs. It’s a sore one against your old team.
“We have a long way to go, we will need to play some great football and win an awful lot of games.”
Moyes was not admitting to any anger about the fan reaction and said: “It wasn’t important. Everton supporters supported their team all night.”
However, the Reds’ first-year boss came in for some ferocious stick from his former supporters who claimed he was ‘full of s***’ as they focused their anger.
It was a far cry from the warm reception Moyes got when he revealed he was joining United and got a fond farewell.
The bad feeling centres on Moyes’s bid to sign Marouane Fellaini and Baines which disrupted the camp.
Fellaini also took some abuse but had a decent game in midfield, with another old boy Wayne Rooney going close by hitting the post.
Danny Welbeck also hit the bar as United improved after the break and took control.
But Rooney was shown a yellow card, which means he is suspended for the weekend’s game against Newcastle.
The final word went to the Evertonians, who finished with a chorus of ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ as some boos rang out from the home fans.
Martinez never got to see one of his sides score a single GOAL at Old Trafford when he was Wigan boss, but he watched in delight as his side deserved their victory.
It was the Toffees’ first win at Old Trafford for 21 years and Martinez said: “It’s more than a football game for us. It’s trying to get over a mental block.
“It wasn’t just about three points, it’s about being ourselves throughout the game and pushing each other. I could not be prouder. It wasn’t the best performance but we dug in.”
Martinez hailed hero Oviedo, playing in place of the inured Lieghton Baines, and said: “He has got the hardest job in football to be fighting against the best left-back in the world, at the best moment in his career.
“It would be easy to drop his standards, but he is a great example.”
