Munir, however, gave the convicts an option to pay a fine of N4, 000 each.
“In sentencing you, the court puts into consideration the plea of the convicts, based on the fact that you do not any criminal record.
“As first-time offenders, who admitted committing the offence, the court will be lenient,” Munir said.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl Egwusigwo Charles, told the court that on July 20, a patrol team attached to the Area Command Headquarters, Kubwa raided Zuba Motor Spare Parts market, where Maxwell and Ihuoma were arrested.
He said it was observed that Ogbonna and Izuchukwu constituted public nuisance by loitering, smoking Indian-hemp, and snatching people’s luggage, “knowing full well that they do not have any business in the market’’.
