Adeniyi, however, gave Musa an option to pay N5, 000 in fine when the convict pleaded for mercy, saying he had no intention of stealing the vehicle but of using it to deliver a message.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Saliu Yusuf of the Jabi Police Outpost, had earlier told the court that Mr John Achanya of Joab Security Services Ltd lodged a report against the convict on Dec. 2.
The prosecutor said the accused intentionally drove the company’s pick-up vehicle to an unknown destination for more than 15 minutes.
Yusuf said the act was an attempt by the convict to steal the vehicle, an offence which is contrary to the provisions of Section 95 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
