A man, Sola Onabanjo, on Wednesday appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court over allegations of snatching a ladies bag under pretence of offering deliverance prayers to her.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Onabanjo, 43, who lives at No 24, Ikosi Road, Ketu, Lagos, is facing a two-count-charge of false pretence and stealing.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Adekemi Adeniran, said that the accused committed the offence on Nov.21 at Full Light International Church in Ogudu.
Adeniran said that the bag contained mobile phones, clothes and wrist watch all valued at N201,100.
She said that the offences contravened Sections 312 and 285 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 312 recommends 15 years imprisonment on conviction.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Omolade Awope, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Dec. 20 for mention. (NAN)
