The Chief Executive Officer of the Gbadeshire Travels and Tours, Lagos, Mr Olugbenga Adebayo, on Tuesday appealed to the Federal Government to grant a five-year tax holiday to tour operators.

He said that tour operators were gradually going out of business due to exorbitant fares charged by airlines.
“Travelling to routes such as Dubai and United Arab Emirates costs as much as N150, 000 and N180, 000 for a return ticket.
“ Imagine if you are going to farther parts of the world, “ he said.
Adebayo added that many travel agents were finding it difficult to make profits due to online ticketing by airlines.
“Online ticketing has drastically reduced patronage by our clients.
“Since most of our customers can use computer, they will rather book online.
“ A five-year tax holiday should be given to us so that we can remain in business,’’ he said. (NAN)
