Twenty medical doctors are to provide two-day free medical services to the people in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba, under the aegis of the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Dr Uwemedimo Nkanta, the Secretary to the Local Organising Committee of the programme, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Jalingo.
He said that the free medical services, which were scheduled to hold between Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, were part of the activities lined up for this year’s NMA Week.
Nkanta said that experts such as surgeons, gynaecologists, and paediatrics had been mobilised for the exercise.
“Our objective is to provide free services to the people, particularly those in the rural areas who, in most cases, cannot afford the cost of medical treatment.
“We are fully aware of the different kinds of illnesses we will encounter in this venture; that is why we invited a variety of experts.
“The services are just for two days in Karim. However, people from all over the state are free to come there; hopefully, we will attend to them all,” he said.
Nkanta urged the people to take due advantage of the free health care programme in order to improve their health conditions. (NAN)
