Man, 29 in court for defiling 5-year-old girl

Police Prosecutor Cpl. Bitrus Koji, told the court on Monday that the case was reported to the police on Nov. 21, by the father of the girl, Abdullahi Muhammad.

According to him, the girl had returned home wobbling on her legs, and when her parents sought to know what happened to her, she called the name of the accused.

The prosecutor said when the Ibrahim of No. 3 Kabala Doki, Kaduna was confronted, he run away, before he was later apprehended.

Koji said the action contravened Section 285 of the Penal Code Law.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that when his plea was taken, Ibrahim pleaded guilty and urged the court for leniency.

He blamed his action on the “devil” and pledged to reform.

The presiding Officer, Khadi Ibrahim Muhammad ordered for a medical examination of the little girl “to determine the level of damage done to her”.

The judge ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody till Dec. 9, for continuation of hearing. (NAN)
