Five people were reportedly crashed to death in collapse of a building at Angwan Dosa, Kaduna North Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! It was gathered that the building was formerly owned by the St. Faith Catholic Church before it was sold to one Alhaji Suleiman Danzaria.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that building had been deserted in the wake of the 2011 political violence where the Church was attacked forcing it to relocate to another part of the state.
This led the church management to sell the property to Alhaji Danzaria.
The owner of the property, it was further learnt, contracted the demolishing of the building one Alhaji Mohammed Idris who employed the labourers to demolish the building.
“Alhaji Idris yesterday (Saturday)came to demolish the building, he came with about 25 labourers. They came after the monthly sanitation exercise and commenced work.
“However, we just heard some sound from where am sitting now only for us to rush down there to discover that the building had collapsed on the workers. They were demolishing the building manually. We expected that they make use of heavy equipments. You can see what ignorance had caused,” he added.
It was learnt that while 10 of the workers escaped unhurt , four died on the spot and another died at a private hospital in the state.
