Sen. Ibrahim Gobir (PDP-Sokoto) and a member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Shu’aibu Gwanda (PDP-Sabon-Birni/Issa), on Saturday, said the National Assembly would continue to work to ensure Nigeria’s unity.

Gobir said “Nigerians have a lot to benefit from being united and indivisible.
“God created us together with diverse backgrounds for us to be united and we will not relent in doing just this.’’
The Senator stressed the need for Nigerians to be patriotic for the nation to continue to prosper.
“We should all work to ensure the even socioeconomic development of Nigeria, irrespective of our diverse ethnic, religious and cultural differences,’’ he urged.
In his remarks, Gwanda underscored the need for Nigerians to emulate traditional rulers, who he said were tirelessly working to sustain the peace and unity of the country.
He said “our royal fathers across the country are worthy of emulation in terms of working to sustain peace and unity in Nigeria.’’
The Chairman of Sabon-Birni Local Government Area, Alhaji Idris Mohammed, said Gov. Aliyu Wamakko and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, have been working to ensure the sustenance of peace, unity and socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria, and the state in particular.
“This conference, therefore, is to brainstorm and take stock, so that we can chart a new way forward for the area, Sokoto State and Nigeria in general,’’ the chairman said. (NAN)
