The Lagos State Government will on Dec. 1 close a section of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway to traffic, an official said on Friday.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Kayode Opeifa, said in a statement in Lagos that the Orile- Maza Maza section would be closed due to the ongoing light rail project on the road.
The commissioner said that traffic on the dual carriageway would only be allowed from 7.00a.m. to noon on that day.
Opeifa said that motorists from the Oshodi -Apapa Expressway would not be able to access the road.
The commissioner said that traffic would, therefore, be diverted via the FESTAC Link Road to rejoin the expressway at FESTAC.
“The installation of the pedestrian bridge beam which commenced on Oct. 20 at Mile 2 will span across Lagos–Badagry Expressway.
“The beam launch will leave an impact on the traffic flow on the Badagry-bound carriageway and traffic from Apapa-Oshodi Expressway linking the Lagos-Badagry Expressway,’’ Opeifa said.
“All measures will be put in place to minimise delay to traffic within the area during the launch.
“Motorists and other road users are, therefore, advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic delay,’’ he said.
The commissioner appealed for cooperation of all road users. (NAN)
