Kaoje told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Birnin Kebbi that the payment of the annual salary increment would take effect from January 2014.

He said also that the issue of outstanding staff promotions was being addressed.

The NLC chairman said a committee, headed by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Pension Matters, had been constituted to review all pending promotions.

“Ministries, Departments and Agencies are expected to present pending promotions matters to the committee for review,” Kaoje said.

He assured civil servants in the state that the union was working for the full implementation of N18, 000 minimum wage.

“We will demand for a circular to be released on the matter, in line with the law, to ensure implementation.

“The state NLC would ensure that the rights and privileges of workers are implemented,’’ Kaoje said. (NAN).
